Tell us something about pintoo garments and how did it start?
With modest beginnings in the year 1973, “Pintoo” today is a name synonymous with quality fashion apparel, school uniform and accessories for children aged 0 to 16 years of age. There was an immense potential in kids wear retailing sector when we started off and our constant endeavour to fill that void has brought us where we stand today. We happen to be the largest exclusive kids wear retailer in Ahmedabad.
I believe that Vaastu is harmonizing the forces of nature and if the changes are done in the right away, it would yield positive results by creating a balance of energies. I met Dr. Rao through a friend of mine who is his client. He has been getting a very good response and hence, he recommended him for our new store at S G Highway.
What all products do you sell and what is the price range?
We offer a variety of product categories ranging from traditional wear, party wear, casual wear, lounge wear, swim wear, inner wear, school uniform, school bags & accessories. We have constantly expanded our product categories, over the years, to become a one-stop solution for all kid’s needs.
What according to you is the scope of kids garment industry in Gujarat?
The future for kids wear market is very bright. We have witnessed that the parents’ spending pattern for their children has also changed significantly. They want to give the best to their kids and spending money is not an issue. We see tremendous growth opportunity in the Kids wear segment in the times to come.

What piece of advice would you give to college students who want to become entrepreneurs?
My advice to college students is to try and be innovative. Think out of the box – there should be no fear of failure as even if you fail, you learn, which is what matters the most.
How do you market your business? What has been your most successful form of marketing?
Word of mouth has been the most successful marketing tool for us. We do not believe in spending heavily on paid medium of advertisement. Word of mouth has enabled us to build a strong customer base.
Why do your customers select you over your competitors?
I think that it is because of our hands-on approach to the business. We are involved in the business at the ground level which helps us in understanding the business and the customers better.
