MR. SHIV KUMAR
CEO AT MAPLE SOFTWARE PVT. LTD.

Please tell us something about yourself.

I was born in Andhra Pradesh and had my basic schooling from Vishakhapatnam. I graduated in engineering from Manipal and did my masters in computer science from USA in 1994. After a few years into the sea food business, I started my software business in 1999. The software industry was in full bloom in 1999. We specialized in web designing for B2B and B2C markets but in late 2000, the markets went down making us shift our focus on other areas of operations. Later, we moved to Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), and Electronic Medical Records. We trained our existing group of people. We worked on this business for two years without making serious headway.

There were a few health related issues in my family and business partnership. One may find it hard to believe, but I saw the results coming in immediately. He correctly predicted a few of incidents likely to happen and the outcome.

What are your views on Vaastu Shastra consultants?

Traditional Vaastu consultants in Andhra or elsewhere are far too removed from modern times. Unlike Dr. Rao, they don’t encourage questions nor give satisfactory explanations. They are unwilling to patiently listen out to the issues before getting on to the solution. They have no understanding of how modern business and industry operates or have any idea about logos and interiors.

If I ask them where to keep the server or if I ask them where a project manager should sit and where a CEO should sit, they wouldn’t know what I am talking about. At the most, they can make a Vaastu compliant house, and tell you the exact location of your kitchen. But what happens when in your office you don’t have a kitchen? The ability to adapt Vaastu to modern situations is not their cup of tea. And one more thing, for Dr. Rao money is not the first thing, it is the solution that comes first.

Dr. Rao suggested that if I wanted to go up to the next stage of growth, I should move into another house that was Vaastu perfect. He added that whatever has been done so far by him to the existing house is by way of patchwork, and that too has now reached its limits. I made the whole house strictly as per his suggestions, right from selection of the plot onwards. So, whatever I built was a part of my strategy for overall growth.

When did you meet Dr. Rao and how has your own Vaastu journey been till date in your home and office?

I met Dr. Rao during one of the family functions in 1996. We had been studying in the same college; however, it was a co-incidence that we met after eleven years. We stayed in touch for the next few years after which I started consulting him from the year 2002.

There were a few health related issues in my family and business partnership. Dr. Rao inspected my house and suggested a few changes. He insisted that I carry them out even though they were a bit difficult. Prior to consulting him, we had tried other options. Hence, I went ahead and made the changes with faith in Dr. Rao. One may find it hard to believe, but I saw the results coming in immediately. He correctly predicted a few of incidents likely to happen and the outcome.

From that day onwards, I developed an irreversible confidence in him.

Maple Software logo

What was the reason behind the name, “Maple Software”?

As most of our clients were from abroad, I felt that an Indian name would be difficult for them to pronounce and even understand, so I wanted a name they could easily remember and associate with.
Since our clients are from overseas I felt that an Indian name would be difficult for them to understand or even pronounce, so I wanted a name they could remember and associate with easily. Also, whilst I was in the U.S.A I had liked maple leaves because they belong to a family of trees that live long. Another additional reason was that when I started the company, Dr. Rao wanted me to have a name starting with M.

Maple Software Office

What has been the most challenging sector for you and what have you done to overcome them?

Getting people trained on software according to the standards of my clients has been one of the biggest challenges. The change in government policies is also one of the major challenges.

How has the Vaastu Turnaround been for you?

Dr. Rao suggested that if I wanted to go up to the next stage of growth, I should move into another house that was Vaastu perfect. The house costed me a lot but I was ready to put the money because I knew that whatever Dr. Rao vouched for, he delivered.
Vaastu is a science, I don’t know but I believe it and I believe Dr Rao so I am betting on it. My whole family is united in their belief in Vaastu and in Dr Rao’s abilities. My father, The New House who initially did not believe in him, now calls up Dr Rao for any clarifications. My brother too, is now a Vaastu believer; even the logo of his company dealing in seafood and granite has been done by Dr Rao.
