Could you please tell us about your professional background and academic achievements?
I graduated in Arts from Delhi university and started my career into Hotel industry in 1986. I was very much interested in this field which is why I took the initiative back then. We started with a small venture, “The Mohan Restaurant &Banquet” in Ashok Vihar, Delhiand currently own 3 banquets in Delhi.
What ignited the idea to start this business?
My father worked as a contractor in construction industry, so he owned a plot which was used for restaurant and banquet purpose. I was in 12th standard during those days and I saw that the hotel industry was catching up. So, I felt an inner urge to get into this business and take it forward. My father continued his construction business while I continued my efforts to make this a success. We bought one more property in 2001 amongst us (4 brothers) which we named Mohan Leela. After that, in 2004, with efforts of my father, we bought a land which was constructed from the ground up in the form of resort. We named it Mohan Vilaas. The entire property from construction phase till inauguration phase was guided by Dr. Rao. It is a resort on GT Karnal road NH1. We are running the resort professionally.
Dealing with financial crisis was the main challenge. Dr. Rao explained the basic concepts of Vaastu and how directions play an important role in any property. Financial and internal family problems were the main issues during those days. He told me that if I follow all his suggestions thoroughly, then no matter what the difficulties, I would experience a positive wave of change in my life.
When did you first meet Dr. Rao for the problems you were facing in your business?
I met Dr. Rao in 1995 for the first time. Vaastu was a very new subject for me back then. People weren’t much aware about this science. Dr. Rao explained the basic concepts of Vaastu and how directions play an important role in any property. Financial and internal family problems were the main issues during those days. He told me that if I follow all his suggestions thoroughly, then no matter what the difficulties, I would experience a positive wave of change in my life.
How did you expand your business to build a successful customer base?
The hotel industry is completely about the service and quality you offer to your clients. Not just the quality of food, but your attitude towards the guests and clients also matter. It is because of quality that the customers would want to repeat their experience. Being humble and conscious about your clients’ requirements proactively is one of the many things that count to build a successful customer base.
How did you market your business?
The fundamentals of marketing have changed very much since the dot com wave started. Earlier, we had press ads in newspapers whereas today, digital marketing has revolutionized the way one can market their business globally. However, word of mouth has played a key role in marketing our business. Our clients talk to their friends, family members, colleagues and they express their interest in our services – quite traditional, but it has worked very well for us.
One real life scenario that changed your life literally after resorting to Vaastu.
Dealing with financial crisis was the main challenge. However, after meticulously following Dr. Rao’s advice, we started recovering from our financial debt and everything started to fall in place. Sometimes, external factors come into play too which cause hindrances in your personal and business growth. All I can say is that, after 22 years of knowing him, I have blind faith in whatever he says.
Is Vaastu awareness increasing among upcoming entrepreneurs?
There are good as well as bad Vaastu consultants out there. From my experience, I do believe that the awareness is increasing rapidly. I have been a staunch follower myself because of Dr. Rao’s forthright and straight advices.
Did you make any changes to your logo as per Vaastu?

In food industry, dealing with government departments and completing their compliance is a great challenge on daily basis.
